Singapore Mini owners: Any interest in a Group Buy for '05 JCW kit?

Hi all,

Am trying to gauge interest in arranging a Group Buy with PML for the upcoming kits and possibly the upgrades (for you earlier MCS owners).

Am checking with my PML rep to see what the list price is, and what can be done, but I need to drum up some interest. I think a minimum of 10 kits would probably need to be ordered before they'll budge past the standard issue 10% discount.

So if you're interested, and ready to cut a cheque for S$1x'000.00, please reply to this thread. Thanks!

Moderators: I hope this is in the right forum, I'm targeting Singapore owners only. Apologies in advance if it's in the wrong place.

Maybe you should post it in the actual singapore thread and link it here...

Ok, done, but the reason I posted in the forum itself is bc the Singapore thread is 47 pages long... just figured nobody had the patience to go through 46 pages to get to one post

How is this group buy going?

Well,

most of them are regular readers on the thread or subscribe to it so any new posts they would be notified.

So how? Anybody interested? Considering the prices of cars in Singapore, most of us are already paying through our noses.... not to mention the increases in insurance and petrol (another factor most people would consider).

I do intend to mod my car, but after the warranty ends and with another tuning company. JCW is good, but they are restricted to the limitations set by BMW. AMD technik on the other hand.... well, they are cheaper, stealthier and gets more power in comparison to JCW. But of course JCW has the pedigree.

Cheers,
B.

Hi,

I am new here and hope to gather good advice from experienced frens in this forum.

I plan to purchase a MCS Auto but not sure if the JCW package can be retrofitted in it. Understand that the horsepower output will be enhanced by about 40 BHP to 210 BHP. Has anyone got experience in this ? Any downside to consider ?

at this point in time, JCW package only applies to MCS manual.
JCW kit for auto will be coming. it will be launched late spring in the US.

Thanks Minicoop for your useful info. I have done test drive on manual MCS only but i am attracted to the new paddles control on steering wheel for MCSa's steptronic system similar to those F1 cars, as reported in the reviews. Even options like LSD may be made available soon. Question is whether these new gadgets and technological improvements do truely enhance the driving experience ? From the economic perspective, a MCSa will cost as much if not more than a baby Lexus sold currently in S'pore (not the new GS300 launched yesterday), so i hope to appreciate its justifications before making that key decision, although i do attach higher brand equity to the Mini .

LSD may not be available for MCSa. From wat i have read, the MINI LSD is part of or a component linked to the Getrag six speed manual.... unless they can find one suitable for the Aisin auto, it will not be available...

For me, if MINI is not around, I will definatly buy the golf V gti with DSG. it will be coming to singapore very soon... in the next couple of months.... I heard that it will be around 120-130K. u should check out the white one http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1655192
