Here are some pics from NAM forums, posted by TheOfficeMaven. There is a full review going up on motoringfile this Wednesday if you want to check it out! I do hope that he doesn't mind me posting up these pics...

The setup looks very good and it should provide peace of mind that replacement parts such as rotors and mintex pads will always be available through the BMW dealer network.

Enjoy your brakes

Henry

Hi Henry,

No I don't mind at all that you've posted my pictures here on MINI2.

As you've mentioned, there'll be a small write-up (with lots of other great photos) about my JCW brake kit install posted on Motoringfile.com tomorrow sometime.

So far I'm really loving the JCW big brake kit. It was very easy to install, very resonably priced, and the brakes themselves are everything I expected them to be and more.

Actually, there are more than 30 photos available of the JCW Brake Kit install. You just have to locate and click on the photo gallery link within the article (I know as it's my review and I took the photos ). The link is at the end of the review just below the rating.

Bad News

Hi everyone

Bad news to report about the cost of the JCW Brakes. Mini have put up the price of the kit. My dealer is prepared to do the kit at £795 fitted. Unfortunately this is a price increase of £45.

This works out at cost price and the dealer is prepared to do this for people already signed up to the deal.

Sorry everyone, hope you are still interested.

Pete

I am - this is still a great price IMO . Are there enough people to go ahead as I need to get new brakes sorted out ASAP

Still not heard from the dealer from this or the strut brace group buy. Perhaps as a sweetener for the increase in price they'd be willing to paint the rear callipers red?

Pete,

My PM seems to have got lost somewhere. I am still interested but MUST keep total of strut brace and brakes to a max of 1K fitted for both. I hope that's possible. If not then, it's brakes only but I'd really like to do it in one trip from Herts.

Cheers

Fraz

Sounds like I need to pull out then - I'm guessing it's unlikely that both group buys will be sorted in the next 48 hours, which would only leave me with a week to sort out an appointment.

My understanding from Pete's post is that no-one will be able to sort out anything until the dealer he has agreed the GB with has final confirmed lists of buyer for both group buys.

My pads need changing now - the admin involved in getting both sets of people sorted and over to the dealer, and then the delay in getting the car booked in means I'll be riskjing life and limb for longer than I think is wise.

It is still a good price and if there was just impatience rather than a risk of life / limb and car I'd be able to wait a few more weeks. But I need to get my Works booked in before next weekend and it looks like a very long shot that I can arrange it through the GB and meet thoat timescale.

I appreciate all the work done by others but feel the dealer is letting us down-perhaps the cost of the strut brace will go up as well. Can StevePSB or Minty confirm that the price has actually gone up in the last week?
I really do appreciate everyone's hard work but an expensive bit of kit, that I don't really need, has just become more expensive with no timescale for completion
at the same time if the trade in post in "general" is true it detracts from the overall value of the car
