Already read about it when he first mentioned the strut brace that's why. As you can see from the pics the GTT unit has been modified and sealed. He has said that he would supply a template for cutting if necessary.

It was acceptable in the 80's

I know this is blasphemous, but there are other CAI kits

Morning Guys,OK I have driven the car over 30 miles of B roads I know inside out , My heart is still pounding with excitement,I couldnt sleep and Ive come in an hour early just to drive it again and confirm it wasnt all placebo effect.?..... ....It was'nt!
OK 'This GTT product IMO gives the most significant upgrade in handling that I have ever experienced on any car ' Even more so than other cars that we have produced a 'similar product' for. The improvement is so great I can feel it every second of the journey on any type of road/surface. I could even feel it driving out of the industrial site. My grip on the steering wheel ,which is normally very tight on bumpy B roads, now doesnt need to be. All the tugging ,and twitching as you put one wheel through ruts and grooves has gone! It feels to me like the chassis is longer flexing.....and thats exactly what it is. Under braking I'm correcting much less and Ive just realised all the dash rattles have just stopped.
We can sell you a Bilstein kit for £1400 ,or this new GTT Strutbrace , for a fraction of the cost ,which IMO improves things more . (irrespective of the huge price difference!)I
I have run my car with both OMP and JCW strutbraces and I found them to make little or (JCW) no difference at all. We knew the GTT Strutbrace would be many times more rigid than these, but if the chassis isn't actually flexing in the first place ,then it still wouldnt improve things. My before & after test drive confirms not only was it flexing, but alot more so than we expected. In summary this Strutbrace does for handling what a GTT220 does for performance. We will test it furher on the track at the Castle Combe Track Day next Saturday- Be there!!!
BTW it fits over the stock or JCW airbox without any mods, and doesnt dig into the under bonnet lining.
PRICE £199+vat (£234inc)
Availability... Initially 1-2 weeks delivery. Six available ,£50 deposit secures. Just telephone/ email / pm card details to reserve.
Best Regards Roland GT Tuning
PS Heaven knows what a difference it would make on a Cabriolet ,these things twist all over the place

Did I not say he has mentioned supplying a template for cutting? This just needs to be applied to your CAI of choice

I'll let Roland fill in all the details though in case this has changed.

Yes if you have the GTT Cold Ram Kit the cutout is very easy as the lower face of the GTT S'Brace is flat and runs parellel to the top edge of the GTT Airbox. (ie no curved cut outs). Also it is only necessary to trim the (taller) inner skin ,the outer 'heatshield' skin is lower to start with. In effect you trim the taller inner skin to the same height as the outer skin . Its very easy. We will do this mod for £10 ,but to be honest all you need is a junior hacksaw. The cut is covered with rubber trim anyway. -Its almost impossible to mess it up. Same/ similar applies to other brands too.

Will your new brace clear the battery box on a Cooper or will the cover need to be butchered?

And what sort of P&P are we looking at?

What year is your car? The bonnet lining starting in 2005 models is significantly thicker than previous years. I have a 2006 MC cabrio and the lining already has indentations even from pressing against stock engine components. I am interested in adding a strut brace but have hesitated because there is no available extra clearance and it may cause rear of the bonnet to be raised. This has happened for many people, using various brands of strut braces.

Hi, the GTT Strutbrace was designed for MCS has not been tried on a Cooper or One yet However it may go over the One /Cooper battery box lid ok? If not and you want perfection we could possibly even mill a cutout in the plastic lid. We will have some more Strutbraces coming in in around 1-2 weeks, if someone brings a Cooper/One down we will try it first. We have tried it on 2 MCS's an 04 & an 05. It will touch the lining but is not stressing the bonnet or making it reluctant to close in any way.
-UK P&P is £12+vat

This just is not fair - I had planned to spend max 100 pounds on the MINI in October. Now look what you've gone and done.

My hand is being forced!

Nope - look at the pics - there is a nice little cut out for the oil filler

Fitting will be simple and as for the CAI - should go on straight over the top - the ALTA has a soft rubber seal which is 'squishable' so shouldn't be a problem. Check out the pics of Roland's on the car over his GTT Kit
