Quite scary when you think there's 300+ horsepower to 1 cylinder LOL

Its quite amusing to see them all go out on the 30 mile cruise after qualifying. There can be upto 20 entered.

I might enter the Mini at the Bug Jam with them seeing as its one of their rounds just for a laugh.

Thanks for the support guys. Ok an interim update. 4u...
The conversion is around 70% complete, there being a lot more work to achieve the very high standard that we desire than I originally anticipated. Having said that Im very pleased with the layout and tbh our routing/wiring/plumbing looks even better than the stock car.
There is a brand new GTT polished alloy expansion tank (header tank) plus cap that will be featured on it and another version ( same tank & cap but different fixings) for every other Cooper S available soon.
The water pump is an electric unit with a delivery rate of 80 litres a minute and ceramic tipped impellors. The significance of this change alone is as follows...
- Cooling capacity for up to 5 litre engines.(so plenty in reserve for hot weather or racing)
- No power drain off the engine (Im guessing but should release 10bhp at peak revs over a mechanical unit)
- Allows you to leave the pump running for 5 minutes or so with engine switched off after a hot session on the track ;- Very good for the engine.
-And the most significant advantage of all?....Because we longer have a SC on the car ,we are now able to plumb the pump to feed the water in the engine at No1 cylinder, allowing it to flow across ALL FOUR cylinders and out at No 4 cylinder. This is a huge bonus. The stock setup is forced to enter and exit the water at No4 cylinder (due to the SC being in the way) therefore not allowing the other cylinders (No1 cylinder/piston in particular) to get the same degree of cooling. Thats why on a badly modified MCS thats detonating , No1 piston always bites the dust first.

The conversion includes a GTT/Bosch Closed Loop Dump/Re-Circ. Valve system venting back to the clean side of the air filter. This protects the turbo thrust bearings ,aids spool up after gearchange and prevents surging on part throttle for smooth non jerky power delivery around town etc. Weve also retained all the emisison systems with nothing just venting directly to atmosphere. The airbox alone has 6 inlet/outlets .
The conversion allows GTT (or just about any other) Strutbrace to be retained, also GTT Oil Catch can in its original mounting position and any Cat back system. You can even use the cat (or GTT De-Cat pipe) from our GTT 2pc Cat& Manifold .
There are a couple of nice exterior styling additions too just to finish it off properly.
Best Regards Roland GTT

Is there an advantage in having a recirc' dump valve over a vent to atmosphere valve? I've just always fancied the dump to atmosphere type.

Hi Root, you can disconnect the pipe & vent to atmosphere if you want to (takes 30 seconds). tbh you will still here the whoosh with it closed loop as the filter is so big the sound (but no dirt ) will travel through it anyway. Closed loop is the 'factory' approach ,also when venting to atmosphere there is a very small posibility of dirt getting drawn into the engine through the dump valve on overrun.
Mini M...Sorry no more pics until its completed. A half finished engine bay gives too much information away to competitors.

very good news Roland

Will you still be retaining the adjustable boost controller? (180bhp to 300~)

Could the pump run for 5 minutes or so after use automatically? Or would it be user controlled?

Thanks Roland!

i would say yes it should be run for 5 mins after, thats the system VW employed on all the 1.8T engines, used to love that feature on my old ibiza 1.8T. considering how hot the standard S gets surprised BMW did not employ that on the Mini
