Hi, we could put a timer on it but tbh I prefer just to keep the ign. key in pos1 for 5 minutes .

OK just to say sorry for slight delay with this project. I did originally say we would have it fired up by end March. Hopefully it will be by end of April though. I've worked on the project every day for nearly 4 months so far. I have had to resolve many things and design /make dozens of small parts along the way. The GTT turbo manifold is just about complete (a work of art) ,there will be a thread on this soon covering everything a good turbo manifold needs .ie .....design/manufacture/ purge welding/material/ support/turbo positioning/flow/power etc. -Get this wrong (and many do) and you'll have nothing but trouble.
Best Regards Roland GTT

Hi ,... GTT Manifold now on .....turbo now on..... Everything connects & lines up perfectly (what a lot of work though ).

I've just spent the last 3 hours designing a bulkhead heatshield . -this will be laser cut & hand mirror polished Stainless Steel.- important to look nice too.
Best Regards Roland GTT

Thumbs up Talk about dangling the carrot...

...this sounds like it is going to be a really great package when complete and tested. Although it has taken great effort and skill, it must be fun to do and I bet the finished product will be a real gem to see in action!!!

the masses wait in anticipation

Cheers,
K.

Just spent another couple of hours fitting everything up..... boost gauge, water in, water out, oil in, oil out (ok onto the floor if I were to try starting it ),GTT incar boost ,GTT spider valve/actuator , airbox to comp inlet,, comp out to GTT intercooler, closed loop GTT dump valve, GTT header tank, water pump.
GTT Strutbrace still goes on nicely and GTT OCC too.
GTT header tank & PAS tank caps are easily accessible.

Things to design/make:-

-Turbine outlet elbow/Downpipe /Cat with flexijoint and 2 x O2 boss)
-PAS Tank (offset outlet version)
-Finish fabricating Turbo Oil return Pipe
-Manifold support stay
-Bulkhead S/S heatshield

Oh and pick up the GTT300 Turbo engine plate from the engravers.
Best Regards Roland GTT

Does this mean we can get GTT260 engraved engine plates? or rather GTT270 once all my work has been completed...

Cheers,
K.

PS. Nice progress on the GTT300T

Hi, Im going to get a big batch of Stainless Engine Name Plates made (see your nagging worked ). We will get the following versions made (black background, engraved and numbers/ letters blue filled)
GTT220 GTT230 GTT230 GTT240 GTT250 GTT260 , also GTT and 300 turbo.
We can do specials on request. We will probably end up including them with GTT220-GTT260 conversions.

Is the only reason this is for an S and not a standard Cooper or One because of the gearbox tollerances and the battery position?

Think its more to do with the low comp engine already suited for a supercharger

Yes its lower comp, better pistons, better crank, different valve & seat material (not a lot of people know that), better gearbox.

I'm beginning to think there is nothing he doesn't know about engines and tuning.

It was acceptable in the 80's

Hi, the different valve & seat material is mentioned in the service manual. Its the sort of thing you remmember . Knowing this I wouldn't want to fit a Cooper or One head to an MCS.

Ok ,I'm working on the turbo downpipe now. I'm making a prototype mock up in plastic tube first. We will also be using a seperate wastegate outlet pipe on the turbine outlet elbow . It then rejoins the downpipe a bit further down.,This allows better escape of the exhaust gases which have been diverted through the wastegate valve, preventing them interfering with the exhaust gasses which has just come through the turbine wheel. It also acts as additional bracing of the outlet elbow to downpipe joint. Because this conversion is designed the outset for RHD cars there will be no clearance issues, with steering column etc
The manifold support stay is made and (temporarily) fitted. The turbo oil drain tube is fabbed and fitted .Water & Oil are in too.

Hi guys, ok the heatshield for the bulkhead is finished. we went for the 'patina' finish (same as used on the GTT Strutbrace) in the end. The downpipe is about 50% complete. Were using a decent length 2.5" diameter flexi joint (positioned in the right place) plus turbo support stay. Another couple of weeks and we'll be firing it up Weve made other small cosmetic changes to the car aswell . Virtually every part of this conversion is GTT bespoke design for the purpose.
