Offline | New GTT300 turbo +pics ! The beast unleashed. .Hi Guys, ok....battery connected..... checks complete..... turn key..... starts instantly.......no funny noises....no leaks......no smoking.....no knocking.....no overheating.....no rubbing.. Complete more checks....... FIRST DRIVE........ totally smooth.....no lag.........very sweet sounding....... very fast...... totally effortless......no bells & whistles ....(just everything I wanted & more.) Complete more checks.....oh my god everything is at present 100% perfect. Complete a little dance around the workshop. How quick is it? Ok well I havnt gone mad yet but with GTT In car boost controller set to 18psi which is what we run on GTT220-GTT260 if feels (butt dyno only ) around 320 horsepower? Im guessing at 22-23 psi it will give 360bhp with ease. It realy is quick. The turbo spec& sizing feels absolutly bang on for fast road & track too. -Not so small (egR56) that its all over after a 'no lag puff of mid range', and not so big its laggy. A change to the next size up turbo would take it to 400bhp I would guess no problem, but I want loads of mid grunt and instant throttle response. At high rpm its much quicker than before. It feels/sounds very very safe ie no where near detonation point, and its just running Tesco 99. -All in all very chuffed. Will drive some more tommorow . If everthing stays as is there is nothing needs doing/changing. Best Regards Roland GTT ![]() BEST PICS ARE ON POSTS 103 TO 107![]() Last edited by roland2003 : May 10th, 2007 at 09:08 AM. |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | Well done Roland, Nice to meet you today, you were younger than I expected! Let me tell you guys that the quality of workmanship on this car is superb. The conversion is so neat. Everything fits without being a squeeze under the bonnet. Attention to detail is second to none. I could tell how proud Roland is of this conversion. Can't wait for testing to be complete so we can get some figures for this car. Hope you get the bonnet catch sorted Roland ![]() ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

Offline | Hi Guys, ok we'll be testing & checking contiuously over the next few months. It needs a few thousand miles with every type of driving thrown at it. After that its on the track for even more severe poundings. We will be using onboard diagnostics & data logging to keep an eye on everything. We will RR it eventually. Well be putting it through an MOT shortly aswell . I want to get the new GTT PAS fluid tank on there before we take any photos plus new GTT graphics on the bodywork. On another note I noticed today on switching it off the turbo can be clearly heard through the airfilter box & scoop winding down for a good 20 seconds ! These roller bearing turbos are just so free spinning The GTT300T and GTT350T can be applied to any first generation MCS including the GP.Best Regards Roland GTT ps thanks for the support. |

Offline | Roland glad to hear the day has finally arrived when you could turn the key and release the beast (under the bonnet). Knowing the quality of your work I can't wait to see this conversion and am saving in the piggy bank already, 300bhp+ in a conv will be just fantastic. and my MCSC will be ready and waiting !! Please keep us informed of your progress and as I am planning another little pilgrimage down to Blanford in the next month I can't wait to see the car, in the mean time post some pictures and stop teasing us. |

Offline | Hi Guys,ok,Being driving to/from work for the last two days. Other things Ive noticed are exhaust is a fair bit quieter ,no loud rasp at WOT high rpm which the Miltek gave with the SC. This is IMO much better (I dont like it too loud) ,we were expecting this,in effect the turbine acts as a silencer. Its just deep and smooth. Its not unheard of to have a road legal turbo car with no silencers atall. The dump valve gives a nice whoosh on gearchange ,and a chu chu chu sound if you get the throttle position to a point where it holds the dump valve piston in limbo between open & shut positions. The cooling system is superb , it was 24 degrees C yesterday and the temp needle just sits in the middle of the temp gauge whatever the conditions. All boost pipe connections havnt moved, still no leaks. Tried dialling in 20 psi on the in car boost controlfor a short overtaking burst.... .....Hmmmmmmm......nice . ..Then back down to 15psi.....still nice . -Just as well as we've got loads of work next week so need to concentrate on that. Best Regards Roland GTT ![]() |
