New- GTT 'Race' Oil Catch Can' +pics

Hi Guys, we have designed & made a brand new GTT 'Race' OCC for the Cooper S. This version is for the GTT300T and has a bracket which neatly bolts to the left engine mount.

The Cooper S has 2 completly seperate breather circuits:-
1) The closed loop PCV circuit....this is the one that collects oil under conditions of less than full throttle. It has a return as it uses depession in the inlet manifold to scavenge (suck)....Our current GTT OCC fits here, trapping the oil before it can re-enter downstream of the TB.
2) This second circuit comes off the other end of the rocker cover and doesnt have a 'non return valve'.
This normally vents back oil& fumes into the 'clean side' of the airfilter, just before the TB.
A mistake some manufacturers have made is to claim (gets more sales) they're ONE oil catch can can suceesfully be plumbed to collect the oil from both circuits....this does not work (by all accounts you just collect water!).
Anyway for race use under severe load and cornering its advisable to have an OCC on the second circuit. This prevents oil ,and 'power robbing/pinking inducing ' fumes re-entering the engine via the inlet tract. These work better open loop (venting to atmosphere), so return pipe not required. .
Best Regards Roland GTT

So what happened about this?

Any prices for a standard supercharged MCS version?

Do you have them in stock?

As anyone actually caught any oil in one of these as I remember someone saying to me recently that although they had one they were yet to empty it as nothing had been collected?!?! Just wondering if OCC'S are worth the money or not?

I have the OCC and do find some oil in there; enough to drain every 3 months or so.

Some people never seem to have any oil in them.

I get oil in mine. I still have oil hitting the inside of the IC etc, so it looks like its coming from this side of the crank case too.

Hi Alex , one breather circuit collects oil on part throttle/ overrun etc (ie when theres depression in the inlet manifold.) The other circuit only at wide open throttle. It is not possible to sucessfully combine both circuits into one OCC ,though others have tried it.
For lots of WOT on a high boost car, on the track,... the GTT Race OCC should also be considered in addtion to our 'closed loop' existing OCC .

Thanks Roland. I knew about not combining the two crank case breathers into the one OCC. I already have your normal one.

I may spend a little bit of time at WOT Which would explain the amount of oil in my horns and IC. Thats why I was thinking about a breather filter or one of these second OCC's.

What is the cost?

Roland,

I already have the standard OCC fitted. From what i understand, would i just need the Race OCC fitted to the otherside to capture the WOT oil?

Most of my driving is at WOT !!!

Cheers,
Karl.
