Quickspool does not imply the GTT300 is laggy ...far from it as Lee and I know. 280Tqs will use a smaller turbo though ,boost threshhold will be in the order of 500rpm earlier.
There would be an upgrade path from 280T qs to 300T ,but would mean buying 2 turbos and 2 intercooler setups etc. ...We can do it though.
Al....I would anticipate the first conversions requiring the car 3 weeks ,reducing to 2 weeks once we get in the groove.

Q ...Who would prefer a 2 position switch on the dash giving the driver 2 power/turbo boost settings for (say) 220bhp and 280bhp? This is easy to include in the package at an additional cost of I guess £150+vat fitted.
Or do you think just 280bhp with a nice progressive throttle is sufficient?

If i decided to go with the package i would like the option of the switch just incase of very slippery situations such as heavy rain, very very cold days (black ice). Mainly for setting off with good traction instead of the traction control kicking in alot.

I'd prefer the option as per lucachiarelli comments........................would it be possible to use the adjustable boost control as you have on the GTT300 / 350?

adjustable, because in winter it would just be too much to mess about with 280 bhp.

Can the stage 2 head be used on this conversion, do you have to mess around with compression etc and does this sytem of using a turbo shed any weight at all.

sounds like an idea.....although....

when i was in the VAG 20vT tuning, i used jabbasport for custom remaps every time, they offer something similar but it is a completely variable "boost controller" I guess its just a pot' wired into the ecu somehow. Was very nice to have, and i used it quite often. It did cause some problems though, not with just my car but quite a few people ended up removing them.

I heard a rumour that 2much was worried about the weight of the knob also that he didn't want to not have to drive his car in any conditions

Ok Guys looks like on the whole most would like 2 stage switch,we can use a variable control but I think a switch is best option. As I say its not essential but it is fun and would save fuel and be more relaxing for everyday gentle driving. Idealy we would need to know at the time of fitting the conversion whether it is required. We could fit later but is more involved .
I think a 'cost option' is the best way to offer this.
Best Regards Roland GTT

Useful for when you lend the Mrs your car - a kind of his and hers setting; can the switch be hidden

i assume its just a solenoid operated boost control and not a sperate map for each application.

Sorry if i missed it anywhere, but is there an indication of price on this level???
