Hi Ant
I hope you do not mind me asking
What are you having done - I note you had a lot of interest on the stage 4 head thread

However ,

An afternoon of thinking, and decided on a Stage 2 GTT head and schrik cam and increased throttle body so hopefully with my current mods it brings it to GTT260 spec ish

No problem Ant, that setup looks a fine one. Once the 280T is running potential customers will be able to come down and sample it anyway before deciding.

Hi Alls,

Think this is my first post (been reading this forum for a couple of months now) so first of all, a quick hello!

Bit too early for me to decide on conversions - I sold my MK5 Golf GTI a few months ago because of the company car. Since then, I've been looking into what I can do with the cash in a year or two's time (driving a diesel for about 900 miles per week can be pretty dull). After spending months trawling through forums about VW Golf GTI, Nissan 350Z, Audi A4 and MINI mods, I've pretty much settled on finding a 2004 face-lifted MINI Cooper S in due time and then spending the rest of the money on various performance and cosmetic mods.

One advantage about the MINI is that it's a decent size for the other half who finds larger cars a bit too imposing to drive. Hence, I would also be very interested in the power boost switch

Anyway, I've initially budgeted for the GTT 240 conversion. I couldn't quite justify another 2.5k for the 260 conversion (extra 20+ BHP) - felt it could be better spent on some other mods, and I'm not that keen on spending the 7/8k for the 300T conversion (not for just road use anyway).

Meanwhile, the 280T conversion is highly tempting - depending on how attactive the pricing is of course Obviously it's down to GTT to determine this figure but I'm hoping it'll be closer in costs to the GTT 260 conversion than the 300T. I figure this may be unlikely due to the parts and works involved but I shall continue checking this forum numerous times a day until the figure is revealed!

Roland, I think you've been doing a great job in the workshop as well as this forum Keep it up, and hopefully you'll be modding my (currently imaginery) MINI in the not too distant future.

Cheers,

Chiu.

Thanks for the comments Chiu, and welcome to the GTT forum.
Based on your pricing thoughts for the 280Tqs, The good news is I think you (and others) are going to be pleasantly suprised with the final pricing of it.
A stock facelift car is the best (most cost effective) base for the 280Tqs aswell,...Thats what we are buying to apply the conversion to.

Roland - Is their items we can buy up front (and fit) to "spread" the cost?

Cheers,

Al

Good point.
The larger GTT 440 cc injectors & GTT AFPR can both be used on the 280Tqs. If you have our manifold the cat section can be used also,
Other parts such as GTT Intercooler, Cold Ram, can be used or 'part used' with modification.
Other items that will work well , making it above base 280T spec are..........GTT gasflowed heads, Shrick cam, GTT Re-Route pipe or Miltek,

Roland, along with everyone else on here I am very interested in the project. I will through 2008 book the S in with you for something. I was wondering what figure you have been thinking about regarding boost levels? I ask as I have a nice boost gauge I intend to buy and have to keep my options open.

I look forward to seeing what this will come too,

Hi R1, yes we do a nice dash mounted boost guage & pod. Check it out on our website.
Boost pressure for the 280qs will be circa 18psi.

Now all of this happened on de Autobahn of course

Just pi55ed that i never had a solid state recorder fitted !!!!!!!!!!!!!! grrrrrr - keeps bugging me that.
