The new GTT300TM & GTT280T 'Quickspool' Conversion

Hi Guys, ok weve been keeping this one quiet for a while ,but here is some preliminary info/spec on it.
Based on the GTT300T conversion , but utililizing a slightly smaller Garrett Ball Bearing turbo for awesome mid range punch . Also uses the same GTT tubular manifold, same GTT 'equal cooling' electric water pump system and more. One difference is it will use our GTT 16 tube top mount intercooler to reduce cost and allow aircon to be retained . It will also use our GTT Cold Ram Induction Kit, the 'cat section ' of our GTT 2pc cat-manifold,our large Throttle Body and our injectors.....all items that many of you already have as part of a GTT220-240 package or have purchased seperatly. The idea behind this is to allow a more cost effective upgrade path for those with these parts ,or even if your just starting modding its good to know these parts ultimatly can be retained making it more attractive to choose GTT products now rather than other brands which could not be reused. Apart from the injectors these GTT parts do require some modification to be used on the 280T QS (eg the intercooler requires new round outlets end tanks).
The conversion will be 'the big performance conversion for the people'... Price will be attractive, &performance very useable. We will be using a totally standard MCS and applying the conversion then running it as a demo car for people to be taken out in. ...Turbo route over other big power options offers better fuel economy, better (Quieter) exhaust note, better emissions, mot pass, & no engine capactity change increase in road tax & insurance to name but some .
Done properly turbo is without doubt the one you would want to live with every day. This is a complete conversion, fully fitted with superb warranty. Designed, made, fitted & tuned here in the UK by GTT.. Please post on this thread if interested and we will add to the list.Preliminary spec can be seen on post 41.

Using standard head? Idea on prices?

For the right price it could be the easy alternative to spending so many pennies getting every last HP out of the supercharger.

Hi Dave, yes standard head/cam. Thats right were trying to give 2 routes for people... A complete conversion for people yet to join the modding ladder, and also one that allows utilization of some GTT products from our supercharged upgrade range.

If its using the standard head and cam at 280BHP then if Al uses his Modified head and cam will that not produce close to 300BHP?

Sounds very interesting, are you going to go with the same route as the GTT300T where 300 was a little bit of an understatement? or is the GTT280T going to be producing 280?

I am sure this will be another exciting adventure.

I always wondered, would it not make more sense to keep the intercooler horns and manufacture a carrier pipe between the throttle and the intercooler horn? Surely this would not effect the flow too much and would save on a few more parts. Ultimately would help to keep a semi stock look about it, for those who want it. would be nice to see the stock GTT air box used too.

Well I will watch another excellent project come together, keep us entertained Roland, we know you will.

The turbo we will be using has a flow capability of upto 330bhp. The conversion is certainly not to replace the GTT300T but to offer an alternative package with different prioritys. Power will be set to circa 280-290bhp. Being a turbo we can control boost and therefore 'select' the power we want ,which means if our calculations for boost v power are out, we can increase/decrease boost by 1 psi very easily . If your car is already sporting a flowed head power probably would be more but not guaranteed. (300bhp is a fair estimate). Were quite happy to apply the conversion to a car with a flowed head. Engine warranty will be more comphrehensive if its a GTT supplied & fitted head , but we will keep everything as fair as possible even if its not.
We invested alot of money in the GTT300 not least the manifold, therefore we want to include this superb component on more cars. I'm very excited about this conversion too.
