Would this rear brace make a larger difference than fitting one of your lower braces? I already have a GTT upper brace at the front fitted.

Hi Ade, its stiffening a different area, so both are equally valid. Im very pleased with the design & mounting brackets of this Boot Brace making its strength very integral with the car. The other thing with the brace is its more on show, which appeals to alot of people.

That one doesnt brace anything, as far as I know. I think BMW people said it was just to stop luggage sliding forward.

That makes sense, after all, the JCW upper front strut was a waste of space, as are their brakes, tuning packages, etc. etc.

I like the sound of the black version (nice and discreet when opening the boot), but I worry that when stuffing suitcases and such in the boot, the blacking will rub off to show the bare stainless steel through the scratches.

Consequently, I went for the bare stainless steel - as I reckon this will be harder wearing. Unless I'm mistaken about the durability of the blacking effect?

Excellent work! I'm looking forward to hearing the first test reports too.

You can make mine one of the later braces produced, as I'll come to collect it in February. So for those orders that are being shipped immediately or for those who live locally to you, they can get theirs more quickly.
