“idiots” guide to fitting a GTT CAI

Hi,

Could some help by posting an “idiots” guide to fitting a GTT CAI ?
I am a complete car engine novice however…. understand this is an “easy” DIY job.

Can anyone help with a step by step guide?

Thanks

It is really straight forward. Roland normally provides instructions (unless you bought it second hand) I'm sure Roland will send you the info if you give him a call. (It takes about 15 mins to fit, but will take a bit longer if you drill holes in the plastic backing plate (scuttle area) to allow more air thru from the pollen vents)

Sef,
Yes, buying the unit second hand.
Will see if Roland is in a good mood and would be willing to send a copy of the instructions.

Cheers

Used guide above to fit the GTT CAI today - thanks MM. Mine was second hand [bargain I think!] but in excellent condition - luckily the previous owner also had the GTT brace so I did not need to cut out for mine. You use one of the existing screws from the stock airbox cover and one of the screws in the bulkhead. I found that to get a good fit I had to use a self tapping screw a little below the existing one in the bulkhead - no drama though! I cut the holes through to the scuttle area and kept the cut outs in case I want to reverse the mod later.

Just one question... what is the correct way to clean the filter?

BTW considering I had a service recently I couldn't believe how filthy the stock filter was.

And lastly... the induction noise is great at full chat!! but not much different at miss daisy speeds :-)
