New GT Tuning Intercooler+ Diffuser- 1st Pics!

Hi Guys, attached are the very first pictures of the GTT 16 tube large top mount intercooler
WITH the production diffuser fitted. I will add some pics of it on the car in a couple of days.
Check out the website to find out what makes this product so special ,plus answers to most questions & spec.
The spec & quality of this combo at the launch price has meant we have sold out of everyone we had. There is another batch of 20 in production which will be ready in around 2 weeks these will be held at the original price. Please contact me if you want to reserve one (small deposit req'd).
Regards Roland GTTuning

Nice.
Any pics installed?
I'd especially like to see the clearance when looking in through the scoop.
Some current designs set so high they appear to block air flow.

I was lucky enough to get one of these babys fitted on Monday, i will take some pics through the scoop and also with bonnet up. It is a quality peice of engineering and seems to work fantastically.

I will post pics asap unless roland beats me to it

Obe the intercooler if anything actually sits about 3mm below the lower edge of the scoop, which is fantastic ,weve lost no height in the core to achieve this and no need to cut bits off the inlet manifold. Also weve got 16 full size tubes & fins in there. Note the CNC milled elipses -very accurate & very strong for 100% seal.
Jamie I think you'll beat me to it, I have to wait until friday to take a pic on a customers
car that is booked in.!

England So why...

...do we need to consider fitting this product?

What are the benefits?

What's it all about?

Looks good! Is there some clearance between the back of the intercooler and the spark plug boots?

Normal service has been resumed (ie the website is now working again) !
Andy Yes even though the core is massive ,there's still about 5mm clearance. How do we do it?- I bet you can guess.

When the supercharger compresses the air, the air becomes hot, the higher the boost the hotter the charged air becomes, this is why the intercooler is after the supercharger to cool the air down before it goes in the inlet manifold.

Do we have any statistics on how effective this is at cooling the air? We assume that due to construction and design it will be better in some way, but have any tests been completed with analysis on air temperature and performance gains ?

I've seen stats on other intercoolers that show significant benefits over the standard - reducing temps by a large amount. It translates to (a small amount) more torque and bhp even on the rolling road, but obviously has more benfit when you're doing 60mph.

Well as long as there's plenty of fins inside the tubes causing turbulance then it will be far more effective than the poor stock one.... Now whos tried a BBR Ram Air scoop on it?? lol

Or the custom made plumbing to do an intercooler at the bottom of the front bumper

You would be better off saving up for a turbo kit...

Front-mount? - Then you'd be jamming it in front of two other radiator cores....

If you don't move those, would their performance suffer?

Although it's a ridiculous idea for a mini, there's some good V-mount arrangements going with bigger cars (ie. WRC Subarus) that allow both the radiator and IC to get direct access to the airflow...it's very popular amongs drifters - especially considering that it takes both cores away from the extreme front of the car and therefore prevents them from getting damaged in crashes (as drifters tend to do...)...

...too bad it's so tightly packed down there in the mini engine bay....

Yeah there is a small loss in cooling to the radiator.... but then the air pressure is so great at 50mph that you wouldnt notice it. Its a tried and tested way of reducing the inlet temp as available from BBR and other such tuners. Next you can put an oil cooler on there for good measure

Also bear in mind that the Air con I believe has the radiator in front of the main radiator and the car doesnt suffer.
