Offline | Three Cooper and one S appeared. No picture had been taken, because the first one arrived at 10:10pm, second at 10:25pm, third >11:00pm and fourth >12:00am. It just too late to go somewhere else and took picture. We just chatted there, talking about the various modification we had made. Although there were just 4 come up, I thought it was a pretty good experience sharing. BTW there is one function held by the HK Mini Club tomorrow. (30.11.2002 7:30 pm) For details, please check www.miniclub.hk.com. Though most of the member there are Rover Mini owners, some new Mini Cooper might go. If anyone want to arrange another meeting, just post here and I think there must be some response. |

Offline | Wayne, Thanks for the update. I think for the next meeting a day-meet might draw a few more participants, and certainly would be easier to take some pictures. We may consider a morning drive followed by a breakfast gathering....just thinking out loud. Eugene |

Offline | Day event is great! I agree with a day event as we have more time to chat and see things. A driving trip followed by a breakfast is a great idea. Maybe we should pick a Sunday in December for the event. Suggestions??? YCLee |

Offline | YC, Here's my 2 cents worth....If it's a Sunday meet then I would suggest either Dec.8th or 15th. This is based on purely selfish reasons as I won't be able to make it the rest of the month. As for the venue, I could think of a couple (they are probably not the best but should let everyone do some fine-tuning).....On the island we could gather at the HK Stadium and drive to either Shek O, stop for some picture taking, then to the Peak for breakfast....lots of good winding roads for the MINI ! Or we could gather somewhere in Kowloon (someone will have to come up with a suitable location) and drive over to the airport, but watch out for those speed trap though! We could have breakfast at the Airport Regal. We'll have to arrange for parking at the front of the hotel which I have seen a couple of Ferrari meets have done in the past. Eugene |

Offline | Wow! A morning drive and breakfast meeting afterwards. It sounds really great. We have to get up real early that day no matter where the meeting point is. But...I surely like it because early birds can have fresh air, smooth traffic and the joy of speeding a little bit (hey, its illegal and I disclaim all the responsibilities> )Subject to the location availability, Sammi, my big dog, will be happy enough to come with me because she likes my Mini too. |

Offline | Hi all, Glad to see all are having fun with their cars in HK. As I will be in HK from January 22nd until the end Chinese New Year, I would like to see if there is any interest from you all to go on another meet on either the weekend of Jan. 25th or Feb. 1st. I assume the latter weekend will be a busier time for everyone as its the first days of Chinese New Year, but nonetheless, I am hoping either weekend should work if its an early morning drive where we will not have to encounter too much traffic and should leave us with ample time towards the rest of the day for other obligations. Depending on your preferences, a drive on the twisties of the HK island south side will be the ideal to give the driver and the car a bit of a workout. Afterwards, we can reward ourselves with food around that region with a nice setting for a still photoshoot. A Kowloon drive will be as equally entertaining any suggestions are welcomed. Since I don't have a MINI I was hoping if I can ride along with one of you during the drive to capture some action pics. As a car enthusiast, I have participated in various M5 meets in the states where I was primarily responsible for photoshooting. I am hoping to do the same for our future meet so the drivers can purely concentrate on driving. Here are some action pics I captured if you are interested: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Anyhow, your suggestions and responses for those meeting dates would be greatly appreciated Looking forward to your responses!Karman |

Offline | As for the location in New Territories, I have some ideas: 1. Tai Mei Tuk - a great variety of restaurants and lots of parking spaces, but we have to be there early morning to avoid traffic jam in the carpark. Photos may be taken along Brides' Road or Luk Keng. 2. Tai Mo Shan (the single lane road leading to the gate) - great mountain view for photo shotting, but no place for breakfast. 3. Tai Tong (¤j´Å) in Yuen Long - nice view over Yuen Long and Tuen Mun and a big carpark for us to arrange our babes in different formation for photo shooting, but once again, no reataurant nearby. |

Offline | I second for option No.1 As long as we are early, we should be fine. A breakfast following the drive is nice. As for KarmanS's suggestion for end of Jan, we can discuss how we arrange it when we meet. It's 15/12 (this Sunday right). YCLee |

Offline | I like Option#1 as well, but where do we meet up? Karman, it's nice to hear from you, but unfortunately only the Feburary date would work for me as I will be away for most of January. And yes....I'd be happy to have you ride along with me if you so choose. Eugene |

Offline | If those from the Island side second to Tai Mei Tuk, we may meet at the carpark opposite to the University Station along the Tolo Highway. It is real easy to reach no matter you drive through Lion Rock Tunnel or Tate's Cairn Tunnel or from Sheungshui and Fanling. As for those who have emptied their parking space for their long waiting new Minis, they may take KCR to the University and lots of FREE (I supposed ) Mini taxis will be there.Time? 8 or 9 or even 7 ?It doesn't bother me because I am in Tai Po. That's why Tai Mei Tuk is my first choice . Anybody has an idea?To KarmanS, It's real nice to see you in the forum again. Hope that we can meet in January. Regards, MH |

Offline | Only 4 of Us 7am and University Station? I'm fine with this. Maybe its too harsh for Derrick because he is in the island side and, I presume, doesn't familiar with road networks in the NT. Derrick, its up to you now. However, its easy to fnd your way to University Station along the Tolo Highway. The carpark is just right next to the station. No worry, mate. Any questions, give me PM or post here anytime. BTW, it seems that only 4 of us, MH, Eugene, Mr Lee and Derrick, that is 2 Ss and 2 CVTs, will meet on Sunday morning. What do you guys think? I am absolutely OK. ![]() |

Offline | I also live on the island so may be Derrick and I could meet up and we'll find our way to the meeting place. If we have too few participants this time we could always postpone and re-organize. I guess the next possible meet-date would be the ones Karman suggested. Eugene |
