| I Love Mini | Any 15" tyres suggestion? Dear all, I would like to replace my 15" tyres P3000 on my MC (manual), any good suggestion? Of course, price is a problem so I really want a reasonable and bargain choice. Besides, I have been asked some workers in garages, they said it should be changed the wheel as well becasue the 15"tyres of manual MC is 175/60. The engineer in BMW said, it is good for 15" in manual MC, it is not really good to change to 16" or 17" in case the engine didn't change. I am not a racer but I don't want there is any sound when I make a turn. Thanks! Eric |

Offline | Eric, I think you could replace your tires with 185/60/15 (better grip than the 175/65/15) with your stock rim. You may check out www.tirerack.com for comparison of different tires then go to the local shop for price. Alan |

Offline | You shouldn't need to change your wheels to use the 185/60/15. People have fitted 195 width tyres on the standard 15" rims. The standard MINI tyre is 175/65/15 not 175/60/15. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | I'd expect they'll look pretty similar from the side (since diameter is similar) and better from the back. Perhaps anyone whose already done this could comment. I'm thinking about it for when I need new tyres. Ken. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | I still have the original tyres Dunlop 175/65/15. I'm pretty happy with them but may think about going up to 185 or 195 when they need changed. There is more choice available in those sizes than 175. These look very nice http://www.goodyear.co.uk/services/t...e_f1_gsd3.html and available in 195/60/15. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | Eric, I would suggest 195/55/15 size instead your O.E.size Bridgestone RE 01 & Toyo R1R are highly recommended as I wasn't only used some few sets in the past but also running R1R at the present moment. Prices btn $600-700@ but one thing u hv to bear in mind that there are lots of RE 01 (water goods) with worse compound but cheaper price in the H. K. market so make sure u get the stuffs from authorized dealer, u may find the genuine one with Tung Shing logo sticker on the side wall. Hope may help! Laxsion |
