A new movie with an old name 'The Italian Job' is released today in the states, with MC and MCS as theme cars. Dont know when will this movie be shown here.

I watched on May 27 at the prescreen night. 150 MINIs showed up in SF, and the movie is GREAT!!!! Any MINI owner should watch it, it got the calssic and new MINI, I know I'm buying the DVD for sure!!!

you've got any photo or information to show us about the big Mini event? The stunt is quite amazing in the trailer, but would that be pretty much the footages that have shown in terms of the Mini appearance?

Seems like the aero kit is quite attractive now after seeing the movie.

here are some pics of the Italian Job Premiere in Hollywood, CA taken by a fellow Cooper S owner (Eric). It was said that there were around 350 MINIs there at one point. Entrance was free, a Mini (new or old) is the only requirement for admission.

That was quite a documentary about the event! Feels like I am part of it. Wonder if we can have that in here to have the drive-in premiere, at least we can select the 3 cars amongst us to play the scene of chasing

I think that would be fun.

Just that it is quite difficult to find a white MC with black stripes here. I have not seen one so far.

How about filming The Chinese Job?

It should not be too difficult only if we could find that white MC, I reckon the location will be taken place in Mong Kok the pedestrian Mall and the market street, then run down to MK subway station (MTR).

And we have a lady red MCS driver in our group that can be the actress.

Paramount should sponsor us.

the only problem is getting it to hk.

droideka, i went to that advance screening in SF with dinlo, he has pictures posted on norcalminis.com. check it out. there were about 150 MINI and classic Mini there for the event.

actually, dinlo took those pictures. i just took the liberty to post them for him.

it was a lot of fun. go watch the movie when it comes out in HK. you'll see stunts that you wouldn't dare to do in your baby.
