Blue Cooper K&N Filter

I've just the installed the K&N filter tonight - WOW!! what big improvement. It's a lot smoother off the line.
And yes I felt it as soon as drove the car.

If I knew it would make that much of difference, would have installed it the same day I got the car.

For those without one - defintely a very good small investment!!.

( Thanks Derrick, for suggesting the change)

Derrick should have suggested you to try the spark plugs and the spark plug cables. These are the cheapest changes but with good results.

Have anyone try the K&N Kit? Some people told me it's not as good as just the drop filter. How about Alta, have anyone use the Alta intake kit?

For myself, I just changed the air-filter to K&N. $550 for it.
For spark plugs, I changed to Denso Iridium. $400 for 4 but someone told me now they can get them in Mongkok for $85 each. For spark plug cables, I use Magnecor. Imported them from Australia myself sometime ago. I think TWAuto have them now.

I ordered my Magencor spark cable from Moss Mini (through internet), and I think it cost me less than US$100 which is cheaper than getting it in HK.

Anickboy,

Yup same price for the K&N Filter - model # 33-2270. Picked it up on the H.K. side - kingston in Tai Hang. Need to order it though.

YC, what do you mean by good results?

The filter was easy - did it myself - toke 10 mins. But need the right tool.

As for the sparks plugs and cables - thinking of doing it when I get my oil change at 2500 km. As for the garage - GUYS any suggetions ????

Spark plugs are easy. I changed them at Kowloon Bay and they put them on for them. I used Denso Iridium.
As for Magnecor, they are even easier. It's a plug and play job. You just swap it one by one. Just make sure you plug it in tight and it's fine. For MCS, suggest to use the red one (8.5mm) instead of the blue.
They both makes the car much more responsive.

Cliff,

As for the Magnecor plugs, the supplier have cut them in right lenght. No worry. A beginner, just like me, will not mess up.

Is Magnecor plugs the best one for MINI? If not, which one is better? Also where can I get them? I might ask my gf to get them for me when she come back form HK in July.

Shouldn't Magnecor be cheaper in the States?. Check their site - www.magnecor.com

Actually don't know which plug is better - but it seems people are recommending Magnecor

I got the quote from one shop for the Magnecor cable, and I think it was about $1200.
