Offline | Hello. Keevan What is your prefer? Shopping or Site Seeing? The places you must go are: Hong Kong island: The Peak (night time), Lan Kwai Fong (night time for drink, good place for a beer). SOHO area for dinner. Causeway bay for shopping and good food. Kowloon : Mongkok for electronic products and car accessories (but don’t pay any money until you check the product carefully), actually, if you looking for some electronic stuff, Hong Kong have some big chain store Fortress, Citycall and Broadway. Just point out something you really interest than I will show you the way to go Enjoy Adam JCW Kit. KW2, Tarox Brake, more............ |

| www.minicoopers.org | well... we're like the regular guys from europe.. we like women, beer and good times... we like music like jack johnson, ben harper, love NOFX, Bad religion and can dance all night to good house music. i think we will look for nice places with the typical HK- flair ( whatever it is , i don't know it yet) i am not a big time shopper, i want to experience the TRUE HK.. that means a lot of sight seeing and then a lot of going out (bars restaurants clubs).. and hopefully meeting a lot of people from there.. |

Offline | Then Bar in Wanchai (hong Kong Island) and Lan Kwai Fong (Hong Kong island, Central area) are the place you should go. If you want oy see more girls then go the Causeway Bay, cause there are so many people in the weekend time. Mongkok (Kowoon) is also must see for you guys. You will find ther are so many snack food along the Lady Street(Kowloon). In the night time I suggest you go to the Temple Street in Jordan (Kowloon), That is the way the old HongKongese kill their night time. Morning time I bet you should go to Repluse bay that what we learn our swimming lesson, then Stanley for lunch sound good for one day trip. For the food, I think you should try the Sea food in chinese restaurant. Some old and good one in Cental ( 蓮香 ) old fashiion Chinese restaurant for tea and Disum. For regular guys, Mongkok, Cuaseway Bay, Wanchai, Stanley, The Peak is a must. Cheers and enjoy Adam JCW Kit. KW2, Tarox Brake, more............ Last edited by adampoon : May 6th, 2004 at 01:28 AM. |

| MINI2 Master / Moderator | Very nice idea. Those are the places I love to go when I was in Hong Kong. Just want to point out that you can see more local people's life style in Mongkok(Kowloon), and you can see more business people at the central area in Hong Kong Island. If you like sea food, I always like to go to Sai Kung. If you like to have a detail map of Hong Kong, I always use this link http://www.centamap.com/cent/index.htm Hope this will help ![]() Dinlo |

Offline | Keevan, that is relatively true, you won't want to be driving here as traffic jams occur regularly and there are only a very limited amount of roads where one can satisfy some driving excitement. In my opinion, for fun roads, nothing beats the pleasure of driving on the German autobahn, the twisties of the Swiss/Italian Alps, and the Big Sur Coast highway (Rt. 1) in California. As for places to go here, the other members have already presented quite a comprehensive list of venues to visit. Perhaps a day or overnight trip to Macau (about 1 hour by TurboJet ferry service) should be in the plans as well if you enjoy some unique asian portuguese cusine and some wild night life. If you have a taste for exotic cars, an early morning trip to Luk Geng on Sundays should satisfy any car lovers delight as a regular showing of automotive eye candies are present regularly. Quite an interesting experience to be enjoying an economical breakfast while admiring some high-end machinery parked just steps away. This is common gathering place for many car enthusiasts as well (including our HK MINI2 gatherings). This is a sample of what it could look like any given Sunday morning, but having noticed that you have been to Nurburgring before, this might look dull in comparison to the track's parking lot. Anyhow, just some suggestions. Any more questions please feel free to let us know. Cheers, karman |

Offline | Hello, Keevan, For driving in Hong Kong, the rent for a Civic is around USD 100 per day without insurance added. In fact, it is not easily for you to drive in this over crowed city. You may spend more than a hour to find the right route and the parking space. Also, it is really costly for gas and parking space, I think you may not enjoy the driving time in Hong Kong.
