| MINI2 Irregular | Cloth SPORT seats Anyone have any opinions on the cloth SPORT seats? I am getting an S and I don't want leather - too slippery in turns and too much $$$ I can spend on other go fast goodies (flame suit on)... Any opinions/reviews/discussion welcome. Thanks! |

Offline | I have the half leather Sports seats, I like them. But I was also surprised at how nice the full leather Lapis blue sports seats were on my S test drive, never been a fan of leather seats. Currently driving: Silver Volkswagen Lupo GTi, 6 speed, 125bhp |

Offline | Re: Cloth SPORT seats I was hot for the dark space cloth but found that the lumbar adjustment is not available unless you go leather. Black leather slippery but I am thinking of the resale value....when I die.... Ess |

| MINI2 Regular | cloth sport seats i have the cloth sport seats, in black, in my Cooper. they're really comfortable and hold you securely into your seat when you corner them. i much prefer them to pleather or leather - no sliding, no hot/cold problems in summer/winter, etc. note the UK seems to have some kind of "half leather" sport seat, but, my US sport seats are totally cloth. -john Cooper indi blue/black |

| MINI2 Master | Re: cloth sport seats I echo photon's comment - very comfortable - not too hot and not too cold (although I haven't had to deal with "cold" yet.) 2002 BRG/W [BRidGet] traded in on 2005 Jet Black/White/White Cooper [?name?] 2005 #1 wrecked by SUV on 6/03/05 2005 Jet Black/White/White Cooper (2005 #2) [?name?] picked up on 6/24/05 |

Offline | In the US you can either get the space cloth, full leather or the leatherette seats on an S. Unfortunetly, the 1/2 leather satellites (IMO the nicest upholstery) is not available in the US. The black/black cloth as showed on an earlier post on a MINI One is certainly not available for the S. Neither in the US, nor anywhere else in the world. If you don't want to go for the full leather, I would go for the space cloth rather than the leatherette. I've mentioned this before on other threads but don't let the pictures of the space cloth deceive you. It really doesn't do it right and the pictures don't even come close to how it looks in the flesh. As a matter of fact I quite liked them (still prefer the 1/2 leather satellites though) and would have had no problem having them in my S. Good luck ![]() |

| MINI2 Irregular | Well, then, my dealer called me to place my order yesterday (a full month ahead of schedule!) and it turns out the only standard options are the leatherette or spacecloth, with a full leather upgrade, so I went with leatherette. I like the idea of cloth better, but that wide swatch of light material has me dreading spots, spills and stains... Other options may be available for order in September (alogn with Black for the S, the Harman Kardon system and rain-sensing wipers), when the line officially becomes 2003, but with the 1-4% price increase on the cars expected, I would rather just order now! One step closer to motoring!!! |
