OEM MP3 Headunit

I've got a Jan2004 MCS with the H/K system, sadly this was a couple of months before the upgrade to MP3 compatible.

Does anyone know:

1. Can I replace mine with the newer version simply enough - without breaking the H/K Stuff.
2. How much?

Thanks a lot

Laurence

Everything I know says "yes" you can simply plug the '05 HU in place of the '04.
I don't know the price from MINI but it will probably be high (a few hundred dollars).
But check the "for sale" forums or search eBay - many folks doing an aftermarket install will sell their old HU ...

I did this swap last weekend and it does work. I have a feb04 build and having the mp3 is nice. Even a larger volume knob!
