Pure Silver Boot changer Squealing pProblem any Help Appreciated

Hello

I am having problems with my boot changer, I am on my second MINI and this time I decided to have CD prep and buy my own changer, rather than buying one from MINI like I did with the first one. I bought the same one I had in my first MINI as it was pretty good. But then the problems started, firstly I realised i had to buy a £50 box to make it work, so did that, got it to work. But I cant listen to it It squeals all the time, really loudly as well. I have re-fitted it a few times but its still doing the same thing.

Can anyone give me any advice as to what it could be please? Do you think the box I bought is faulty? Or could it be a problem with the cd prep fitting?

Thanks, Marmy.

Oh its this one by the way

I had exactly the same squeal problem. I've got the same changer that you have.
The solution? I found that not pushing the phono connectors fully into the connector box sorted it. Stick a CD in the changer and start it playing, then disconnect the L & R phono leads (white & red). Obviously you will hear no sound through the speakers. Now plug the leads back in and move them until the squeal disappears. Hope this helps.

If I'd known you could order an extra to change my boots, I'd have specced it (though, maybe, not if it squeaks about doing the job).
