United-States Parrot 3000 Evo and Blackberry 7100

So, I just installed the new kit from Mikey (www.newministuff.com) and paired it to my Blackberry 7100t. All works well.

Is there a way to get the phone book over from the Blackberry so I can use the voice dial function of the kit? Or am I restricted to have to dial from the phone?

Mikey, anyone?

Just set up voice tags in your phone, then press the phone button on the wheel, say the persons name & it will dial them

Mike,

I guess that answers it - the Blackberry doesn't support voice dialing, so I guess I'm out of luck?

Great service btw. Very easy install.

What would be the best holder for this phone that I could get from you?

Blackberry 7100 from Parrot site:

"Audio Profiles supported: HANDSFREE.
Standardized AT command: Fully supported when using the handsfree profile to connect with CK3000 Evolution. These commands allow remote control and operation of the phone from CK3000 Evolution"

Most of the others listed, Nokia's etc. also have:

"Voice tags can be recorded on the carkit or the phone for voice recognition speed-dialing (the carkit's one is more efficient)."

Don't get me wrong - it works. Answers, ends, mute radio MSFW works fine. Just no voice dial as the phone doesn't have this feature.

Thanks

Mikey, I'm considering installing one of these kits in my 2005 convertible. Where is the mic positioned? Have you used the phone in a convertible with the top down, or is there too much wind noise? Maybe with the top down and windows up?

I'm actually more concerned about the installation process than anything else-- I am NOT mechanically inclined!

Use the Parrot keypad?

I've got one of Mikey's CK3000 (non-Evo) kits installed -- quirky but ok -- and had to use the Parrot control pad to set up voice dialing. While the Parrot module does allow the use of the phone's voice tags, they are pretty useless when moving. The Parrot module allows the creation of a vehicle specific set of voice tags which are far more reliable.

What I did was install the Parrot control panel (there's a socket on the wiring loom for this) and tuck it away below the heater controls. It is used only for setting up the voice tags per the Parrot docs and the MFSW for everyday use.

As far as mic mounting, I have mine attached over the driver's side factory mic cover, snaking the wire through the cover and down the A pillar. I tried to hide it in the factory location but that was virtually unusable when moving due to vehicle noise. I've had no complaints in the current location.
