Nice head unit!

Which steering wheel do you have? You should be able to get an adapter from mikeythemini (on this forum, or see https://www.newministuff.com/new/sho...uctshow&id=80). I got one for my Pioneer and it works really well - dead easy to fit too! I have the 2-spoke wheel but you can get ones for the 3-spoke as well.

Hope this helps

Wave / Boost refers to the variant of the factory fitted stereo in your MINI. The bog-standard unit is Wave, so unless you specified the 'Radio Boost' upgrade that's probably what you have. I'll dig out some pics so you can identify your unit...

piccies attached, courtesy of mini.co.uk
First pic is wave/cassette. Second is boost/CD

I'm sure other people here on MINI2 are more expert than me on these matters, but as a general guide if you have a cassette system it's probably Wave; if it's a CD it's probably Boost

(other combinations may be technically possible, depending on the build year )

Best bet is to check the invoice (if you bought the car new), or check the glove box for the manual

Pull the standard radio out, and if the pins in the plug are flat you have a boost equipped car known as BMW quadlock plugs.

If the pins are round you have a 17 pin BMW wave system.

Its that easy
