United-States Sirius and Wired FM Modulator Relay

Is this needed for my MCS Convertible '05?
I just got a Sirius Starmate receiver for Christmas along with a Wired FM Modulator Relay. I understand that the Modulator relay will eliminate the static/interference from the FM stations. Is this correct? But where do I install this, does it go in the behind the radio unit or do I connect it somewhere in the boot? The relay has one wide cable and another cable which seems to fit the Sirius receiver. Also there is a wide female connection in the modulator which I don't know what is for. I am useless... help anyone?

I don't think you need it for the Starmate. If it's the adapter I'm thinking of, I've used them for hardwire installs, but never for any of the protable systems I've had.

Thanks, I thried the using without using the fm modulator and sound quality wasn't that good. Based on what I read, it sould improve with the modulator, but where do I install it on the '05 conv?

You should just install the $40 AUX input cable, and skip the whole radio thing.
