painting/removing 2006 dash

ok i did a search and could not find the answer.. i noticed that the dashboard of my 06 is different than earlier years. the passenger side of the dash is like one piece instead of two and the airbag text is above the dash.
i know that a few people were having problems removing their 02-04 dashboards because of the airbag. i was just wondering if the change in the dashboard for 05+ makes it easier to accomplish?

The changes make it MUCH more difficult to take apart the dash.

I have found my 05 far easier to remove due to the repostioning of the airbag.

I start from the passenger side, open the glove box and pull up from the edge, then do the centre piece then the drivers side.

Always be careful to pull up evenly across the whole panel so as not to twist or stress the plastic

Help?

I've not done that, but there I am sure there are few threads on here that show how that is done

If not maybe some of the pics on www.realoem.com might help you figure out where all the torx screws are to lift off the top

Hello All- My Cooper is on order and I'm already planning on painting the dash panels. So, are you saying the three panels simply pop off? No attachments? Thanks for your help.
