Offline | GP Recaro seat airbag sensor I am awaiting del of a GP. I have a question for you regarding the Recaro seats. It appears that the reason the factory Recaro seats are not available in the U.S. is that they do not have the 12lb passenger seat delete airbag sensor. The seats do however still have the side airbags and seat heating. Would you know if their is a way to delete, possibly by the dealer, just the sensor for the passenger child seat protection and still have the side airbags functional? I am aware of the resistor trick but i believe that would also disable the side airbags. Thanks Steve |

![]() Time for CHANGE ! | I'd imagine its the same as here in the UK, providing you have or can get the BMW part number, there is no reason why a dealer parts dept.should not be able to get hold of it. I get USA only MINI merchandise through a UK dealer, it takes a while to arrive as its not held in UK or Euro warehouse stock. It should all be gettable though ![]() |

Offline | I do live close to the Canadian border so I assume I could get the seats from them. However I'm not sure if the red stitching would be available though because the Canadians are not getting the GP's. Other than that I believe they are the same. |

Offline | In the US you CANNOT order a part if it's not DOT approved ... like the knee bolster with cubby hole ![]() The non-GP Recaros are two-tone ... grey seating surface and black bolsters. |

![]() Time for CHANGE ! | Thats terrible, they let you butcher cars with all sorts of awful accessories but you cannot import a seat, what happens if you import an old MGB for example emissions aside, does that mean you cant buy spares to keep it British and it has to have only US DOT spec spares fitted , that sucks ![]() Tell you what, I'll price them up and ship em over for a small commission ![]() |

Offline | Not to hijack this thread, but since my Mini is an '02 model, without the 12lb seat sensor, if I could get a set of these seats, these seats would work, airbags and all ..... right? |
