Offline | Opinions needed! As some of you may know, I've recently had the JCW front (full leather) seats fitted, which are awesome. But, the rear seats are now starting to annoy me as they don't match and I now hate the silly swirly (Kaleido) pattern on them after getting used to the classy full leather in the front ![]() So, I'd like to get the JCW rears in full leather too to match the fronts. But, I also want to get my brakes upgraded as I find them very dissappointing and I have little confidence in them when braking at speed. The problem is I'd be putting the purchase on my 0% credit card, but I only have enough space left on it for one of the above ![]() So, do I go for the sensible and safe option, and improve my car's braking by fitting a braking package (probably Lohen's LB2 package); or do I go for the probably silly option and get my seats done? Whichever one I don't do, will be done in about 9 months time. I'm leaning towards the brakes, as if I need to rely on them at some point and the current brakes let me down, I certainly know I'd be wishing I went for the brakes instead of changing the look of the back seats (which rarely get used and/or looked at anyway). But, I was wondering what everyone thinks I should do, as I'm often not level-headed and mature in such situations, and just buy on impulse ![]() Thanks. ![]() |

Offline | Mark, I'm like you tend to impulse buy. But if your not happy with your brakes, then you have to think safety over what something looks like, or you may not be around to appreciate it. Personally I would love to change my tyres for non runflats, as the ride would be better, but they are put on the car for a safety reason and I'm happy to live with them, all be it the grip is not as good as some alternatives and the ride is a harsher but hey I'm doing my best to make sure I'm safe enough to appreciate everything. |

Offline | A bit of sound advice there, thanks I think I will get the brakes and wait to do the seats - I just want a bit of assurance from people to tell me it's the right thing and make me feel better about not changing my seats ![]() ![]() |

Offline | lol, I think the brakes are winning then ![]() To be honest I just got a PM from a guy with a similar setup to the Lohen LB2 package, and he said it's mainly good for track use, ie. heat and fade isn't as much of a problem during hard driving and/or track use; but for general use (which is all I use my car for) the stopping power/feel etc. during normal use won't really be changed. So, for £550, maybe I'll save my money? It seems the only way to really increase braking performance is with a BBK, but I don't want to spend that much money on one. So, I'm going to change the mintex pads when I need them, EBC discs when/if my currents wear out, and the same with the AP fluid...I think ![]() ![]() |

Offline | I'd definitely go with brakes, if the the fact that the back seats dont match bothers you that much - remove them! Obviously depends on whether they are used regularly. If not just wait til you can stretch to the jcw rear bench! ![]() SILLY P |

Offline | I think you have answered your own question... "So, do I go for the sensible and safe option, and improve my car's braking by fitting a braking package (probably Lohen's LB2 package); or do I go for the probably silly option and get my seats done?" Its always better to work on the side of caution...plus, if you really dont have confidence in the brakes, and your fears are realised, you could be messing with the lives/welfare of others. Brakes everytime IMHO. ![]() |
