iPOD Dension/ICELINK 2006 - will it work on my SatNav screen?

I have heard that the new ICELINK plus from Dension will work on my OEM Sat Nav. Is there substance to this rumour or is it a figment of my hopeful imagination?

Mikey, if yes are you going to be stocking fitting etc? How much is the kit supposed to be? Don't have CD changer so don't think the Gateways are necessary for me.

D'oh!

If he doesn't know then I guess we'll have to wait and see what appears! When are you expecting to get hold of some Mikey? I assume you shall be providing them when they appear?!

Holding breath!

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but wanted to clear something up (yeah, I know, I could just wait to get my car, but where's the fun in that?).
From what I've read, you can't get the ID3 tags to correctly display on the satnav screen, fair enough. But the Icelink manual says you can choose which display you can use, so even if you have satnav, can you still get it to display tracks on the radio HU as if you didn't have the satnav? Would this work?

Nope, it doesn't work. It should be possible in theory, but the problem is that there's a bug that causes this not to work correctly, so it always goes to the navigation screen. I bought the Ice Link Plus knowing that it doesn't work properly - and prepared to live with having to have the tags disabled - but also in the hope that they release a firmware to fix it.

I've skimmed through the mahoosive Icelink Plus thread, and seen how it's been progressing. From the looks of things, the text display uses the phone capabilities, so the car displays the text thinking it's a phone call? Thus the reason why it shows up on both the HU and the nav screen.

Is there any indication of a different solution being released, which may work by only showing the text on the HU, or is it a dead end, and it'll never work properly?

I personally think it'll never work properly. Dension just aren't interested. But never say never.
