Remote Lead on Stock Stereo for Amp?

I would like to put a rockford amp and sub in my MCS using the factory head until I decide what to replace it with.

Does anyone know if there is a remote lead coming out of the factory head (REM, usually a blue line out of a aftermarket din) that I can splice into so the amp will turn on? Or does someone know a trick where I can pick up a power source the right size, add a switch to it and wire it in that way?

Thanks,

Greg

There isn't one. However, now this I've got a hangover so bear with me... Try and find something in the fuse box that doesn't draw much power and only comes on with the ignition - could you splice it from there? I haven't looked but it seems like a solution to me - anything my poor tired little mind has missed?

Oh yes there is.... It is the White wire comming out of pin 13 of the large connector in the multiway connector shell. Find the fuse then work up the pins above to the top right and there it is. Splice in to this.

It goes live to power the antenna amp. I use it as the remote for my RF 500x!

THANKS!

Perfect! That is much better than mucking around in the fuse box!

Thanks again,

Greg

Pin 13-white is the power-antenna. You might also try pin 16-purple/blue that is the accessory I think (not sure) that is the same as a REM line.
This is from thread.

Correct pin 13 is the accessory wire but this is used to signal the HU to power up when the ignition is on. If used for the remote of a amp it would mean that the amp is on all the time the ignition is on! This in turn may well mean that you get horrible pop's as you switch the HU on and off.
