Offline | A quck search through the forums for firewall / fire wall and amp gave me ... http://www.mini2.com/forum/758735-post2.html and http://www.mini2.com/forum/692429-post112.html But usefully the search reminded me of ScooterBoy, a local MINI owner that did an audio install how-to on his website: http://home.comcast.net/~sfconnell/mods/audio/home.htm It has a link to "running power cable from engine to cabin" which links to: http://www.mini2.com/forum/interior-...ing-holes.html ScooterBoys web site also has pics ... http://home.comcast.net/~sfconnell/m...dio_page_2.htm I think this last is probably exactly what you need ... all it requires is searching ![]() |

Offline | Hi there, Yes, i think i can help, i wish i had some photos to show you as it would be a lot easier but alas, i don't. Ok, with the bonnet up, look into the far left corner, you'll need a torch. Look behind where you top up the brake fluid, you should see a rubber grommet with some black conduit coming out of it. Carefully, make a small hole in the grommet next to the conduit. You will be able to put your power lead through the hole, look under the dash inside the car by the driver's footwell, you should see the power cable coming through. I re-sealed around the hole in the grommet with some silicon sealer, just in case. You can run your power cable from the battery +, across the top of the battery, and out where the negative cable leaves the battery casing. I cable tied the power cable by the brake pipes just to keep things tidy. The fuse holder will be exposed to the rain from the black vents by the windscreen, however, i took this route becase the fuseholder is waterproof, and i didn't want the power cable running inside the engine bay. Hope this helps, Adrian. |
