Offline | Leather gaiters Just wondering if anyone's changed the cheap vinyl gearstick/handbrake gaiters to some nice leather ones? I got some off eBay a few months ago, but they're not too good - they don't fit 100%, they've not worn very well, and the colour of the leather doesn't match the MINI leather (panther black). Can anyone recommend any? ![]() ![]() |

Offline | This is the pic of my current one:- It's fine, but starting to show a bit of wear even after a short time, and also the leather is a lighter grey than the rest of the leather in my car... As far as the shape goes, the handbrake gaiter is fine, but the gear one looks silly from the passenger seat or from the side nearest the centre console (ie. it looks great from the drivers seat when in 1st/3rd/5th!) because it just doesn't look right. Can't explain it really. Maybe I'm being too picky! Anyway, I can't be bothered putting the original vinyl ones back on my car for sale, so I'll see how I get on with the new vinyl ones I guess and get some leather ones if I want to. ![]() |

| Eat my dust. | I was just thinking about this today! Mikey - is the alacantra knob alacantra and carbon? Do JCW do an alacantra and leather one, or an all alacantra one? I don't want to introduce any carbon, but I need a way to tie in the alacantra if I'm to buy the gaiter and handbrake thingy. ![]() EDIT: Weird, I edited the wrong message. ![]() Now driving a 2006 Brabus Roadster Coupe PW/B Cooper S Works has gone to its new home! Offline | I'm running blue leather gaitors from Redline motoring, they're really good - I can't post a link as they're not a sponsor, but if you can't find them from Google you can always try NAM as they sponsor over there. Top quality gaitors, mine are still gorgeous, very simple thing to change, and makes the car look a hell of a lot better. Before: ![]() After: ![]() They look even better now I'm running the chrome line interior ![]() |

| Eat my dust. | You can post the link, as it's not a "sales pitch" and they're not in direct competition with any of the current sponsors (nor has a sponsor posted in this thread with details of one of their own products). ![]() EDIT: Sorry, just realised Mikey had already posted about the alacantra ones... ![]() Now driving a 2006 Brabus Roadster Coupe PW/B Cooper S Works has gone to its new home! |

Offline | Well... Mikey has ![]() You can get them from here: Redline Goods (Clickable link) PLEASE NOTE BEFORE CLICKING THE ABOVE LINK!!! That is an AFFILIATE LINK! The ONLY reason I have posted it (as well as me joining the program) is so I could help my friends who bought from them with a discount. Using that link will give you a 5% discount on purchases - but it will also give me 5% "commission". Now, I do not really care about that, nor am I doing it for the money - it is "ONLY" to help my friends and fellow owners out with what I vouch for as a top quality product. NOW on saying that, every now and the Redline post a discount code on NAM which gives a 10% discount - in which case I obviously reccomend checking there first, and using that if it is there, as that gets it for you at a better price! Like I have said, the only reason I have posted it is to help other members - if you guys don't think I'm trying to help you, or if a mod does not agree, feel free to delete it - like I said, just trying to help the community out. |

| Eat my dust. | If a few people were interested, it might be possible to get the price down a bit, and do a... not a group buy, because that wouldn't be allowed... but maybe a transatlantic bulk order? ![]() I fancy a set of black ones with red stitching - will match the JCW dash if I ever have a moment of madness and decide to stump up the cash for it. ![]() Now driving a 2006 Brabus Roadster Coupe PW/B Cooper S Works has gone to its new home! |
