Offline | Harman Kardon Help, please! i just picked up my new MINI this past friday (a pepper white MCSC)! i got the H/K stereo upgrate which was included in the premium package. the "manual" i got was little more than a quick start guide and i have so many questions... FM1 and FM2 i understand, what the heck is FMA?? AMA?? does the radio really not display a time-of-track for CD tracks as they play? is there someplace where i can find a real manual for this radio or at least get some questions answered? the radio questions notwithstanding, its been a blast motoring! and thanks! jeff |

Offline | Hi there! Glad your enjoying the car. I can answer one question: The cd player unfortunately doesn't display cd track times, aswell the leaflet we get this side of the pond is not very discriptive to. I will leave the others to comment on FMA and the other cause we don't get that here. Checkie Checkmate mad owner |

Offline | This doesn't answer all your questions, but it's a nice overview of the H/K system and how it works: http://www.in2guitar.com/minihkreview.html This is a good read for setting it up for sound. I have no idea what FMA and AMA are--it's not on mine. Probably some goofy european thing, but you all drive on the wrong side of the road anyway, so what would you expect... |

Offline | FMA and AMA are the autostore locations. The radio can automatically find the 6 strongest radio signals and set the buttons to those stations. Good for when you are travelling across country. Select FMA or AMA, and hold the button to activate the search. Or, simply use it to store 6 additional stations. Get a copy of a factory radio manual from Motoringfile: http://motoringfile.com/files/MINI_Radio_Manual.pdf |

Offline | Thanks! thanks guys! very helpful, especially the manual link! thats much better than the "manual" i got from the dealer! bummer about the track times. i sometimes listen to books on cd and its VERY helpful to note the track time when switching back to tunes! its a pretty nice stereo though and the car is a blast to drive regardless!! well, happy motoring! |
