Offline | From the past post I was trying to remove the clock from the headliner. I tried to push the clock towards the interior like in the manual. I think this is only possible with the sunroof model. I just could not get it to move. And I did not want to damage anything. As luck would have it I had enough cord supplied with the radar to run it along the edge of the headliner towards the upper left roof support down back the edge in the door gasget and behind into the fuse box. All of this took some time as not to do any damage to the wire or the gasgets. Lying on my back under the dash (no easy chore) had to get one wire shoved in with any fuse. The other wire was placed into the hole where a plactic expansion bolt holds the housing for the fuse cover. I took a small round file and took the paint off and aroud the hole so as to make a good contact. Then I placed the wire into the hole and replace the plactic expansion bolt. I now have power to the radar. The only problem I do not like4 is that the power is on all the time. If any one can tell me how to connect to a power source that is only on while the car is running this would be convenient.![]() |

Offline | power source When you press and hold the interior light button for 5 seconds it will flash then go off. This is battery saver mode, and I believe that it cuts power to the sunvisor lights too. You'd need to check that though (press the button, with a sunvisor open and see if the light goes out on the visor also). If it does then you could rig your radar using power from a sunvisor feed. Then, when you stop driving, open the door to get out and press the light button into saver mode and the radar should go off too. When you come back to use the car again, the system should detect you opening the door and power up. Therefore your radar would power on automatically every time you got into your car. |

Offline | I made a helpful discovery about this as I was installing my detector last week. The power to the sunvisor mirror is not there all of the time, when the doors are closed and the key removed the mirror power dies when the interior lights go off. I was thrilled that I did not have to run a wire to the fuseblock, just used the mirror. You can verify this by sitting in the car, closing the door and removing the key, when the interior light goes out the mirror lights do not work. Tom |
