For you OEM nav gurus, V28 has been released for the MK4. It seems that no "new" features have been found yet, but some have reported increase in speeds.

OK, I loaded V28 on my system and it is a bit faster rendering graphics. I was unable to find any "new" features, but if I do, I will keep you guys posted.

Apparantly, our friend on X5World have had a hint that v28 supports a number of functions that will be added with the up coming 2007-1 map disc from Navteq. I guess we therefore wouldn't notice anything new at the moment if this is the case.

Better head over to ebay and stake out for a release of the 2007-1 High Europe disk!!

Thanks for the info. I noticed the information about v28 on X5world a few days ago, but there was no download link at that point; it was still much of a rumour.

For no reason other than curiousity, I just updated my nav to v28. It took about 1 minute and was very painless indeed! I had v27 already as this is what my MINI came with when it was built in May of this year. I can't see any changes yet, but then I haven't driven it yet.

I've noticed one thing, but not about the new software as such. Previously, when I used to unlock my car from the key remote, the nav screen used to come on with the MINI logo. It doesn't do that anymore; instead it just comes on when you turn the key in the ignition.

I'm gonna be staying with V27.1 well my own V27.2 untill it because needed. works fine on that version so no real point updating

Hmm, I don't have the issue that S33BBY is having. When I open the door, I get the MINI logo.

I may try downgrading to v27 again and seeing if it's the v28 firmware that's causing it, but I'm not really too fussed.

Does anybody know what is the difference between Europe High and Europe Business DVD? Now I have Europe High 2005-1 and want to update to a newer version. Any problems to buy the BMW version? I think I don't have the locations of Mini dealers anymore, but the BMW dealer have most of the times a Mini dealership. There are much versions sold at eBay.

For MINI, you need the High version. The Business DVD is for Idrive. Also, becareful on Ebay, you may end up with a copy of pirated software.

Just a little follow up to my problem with the system not booting when I unlocked the car... It seems to have mysteriously disappeared, and it's now working how it did before upgrading!

V28 seems to be absolutely fine, though no different to V27 as far as I can see. Still, there must be some changes otherwise it wouldn't have been released.

I have been trying to find out. What are the little BullsEyes symbles on the NAV maps. looks like a ring with a solid inner circle.
