Harman Kardon Volume

I quite remembered I have read it somewhere but after a short searching I was unable to locate the thread. That's the problem if you wanna look , you cant find it and if you dont is always rigth in front. Ok , my problem is the volume of the HK will decrease simultaneously when the speed/rpm is decreases too and its intermitten . Much appreciate anyone in this forum could advise pls.

Isnt that normal?? All the radios should adjust volume with car speed so far as I know. Could be wrong but mine seems too but that doesnt have HK.

It's a feature of the HK stereo supposedly but I've never been able to get it to work.

My volume stays constant...

I've followed the how-to in the manual and it still won't bloody work.

Believe me ...
The HK system *does* adjust volume for road speed compensation.
But it's very subtle and hard to detect - it does just enough so you don't need to turn it up, but not so much that you hear it increasing.

If you want to prove it to yourself, try this - make a CD of music recorded very quietly. So now when you play it in the car you need to be at MAX volume to hear it reasonably. When you drive now, you'll notice the volume doesn't seem as loud when fast compared with when stopped - because the HK can't volume compensate if it's already at max ...

(and the other thing that confuses people - the sound volume compensation setting exists and is described for non-HK cars, but doesn't exist for HK cars ... except for a few HKs where the option did erroneously exist, but of course has no effect!)

It is hardly noticable on my 06 MCS. Not that it matters to me as I actually find it an annoying feature anyway.

Can you turn this feature off? I'm perfectly capable of turning volume up and down on my own.

If it is HK, no, there is no way to turn it off. If it is a non-HK car, it can be turned off.
