Does anyone in this forum could tell what is the brand of the radio on the 06 model as there is no idenfication or label and I dont think it's a HK

Generally if it's the HK, it will say "Harmon Kardon" on the surround around the front door speakers. I know here in the US the only head unit available is the Boost unit, with or without the HK upgrade. If you have the original documentation that came with the car, there should be a little pamphlet of sorts describing the various functions of the head unit, including saying if it's a boost or wave unit.

I was just have been informed that the radio on the 06 model is made in germany and its not a HK.

OK, here is the run down. HK or not, they are the same radios and there are TWO boost versions. One is made by Alpine and mainly sold to the US market. The other is made by Siemens VDO and is sold to the Euro market as it can also process TMC signals. Both radios will be in either HK or non HK cars as it is the AMP and speakers that mainly makes HK. THe wave radios are made by Alpine to my knowledge.
