If you are trying to remove the HU, you can simply angle the down tubes out to get to the bolts. However, if you need to remove the center portion of the console, you have four screws holding it down.

Two located in each cup holder and two that are located under the little panel that has the switch for the mirrors and heated seats.

The easiest way to get that switch box up to get to the screws is to pull up the gear shift boot.

Once you get the screws out, then you can slide the center console back and it will come loose.

On the 06 there is no need to touch the centre console,
Pull down the drivers knee bolster (they can be very tight) get you hands in between the boster & column covers & pull down it is held by to clips at the top & is hinged at the bottom.
You can then get to the top pillar screw. Remove all 4 pillar screws as shown earlier, the pillars will drop & you can push them outwards to remove the radio screws
Flakey you have a pm

Mikey,

Got a question on this. Got the relay for the MFSW and install would be similar to this (I think). Where the heck does the unit attach to the MFSW bluetooth button?!? I've got the Speech button relay interface (BMW01REL)

Cheers.
