Hi everyone, another car has arrived this morning with the complete Harmon Kardon speaker system in our breaker yard.

ATM I have my own system installed however I have the standard speaker grills fitted. Just wanted to see if anyone knows how to remove the HK speaker grills? Do they just pop out of do ya have to remove the door cards etc? Any help would be really appreciated!

You have to remove the cards.

To be honest, the only real sonic advantage would be to replace the tweeter covers with HK ones. This does not require removing the door cards and takes only a few minutes. Then you will actually hear the tweeters!

I did this to my car.

Front Door Twetters, you need to replace the complete tweeter/handle cover from the front.
Front Door Bass covers are welded to the back of the door panel, to replace, remove door panel, drill off old covers and Palnut on new covers.
Rear Quarter Panel bass covers are the same retention as the Front Door Bass.
Not a massive job but not that easy either.
All parts available from BMW as spares.
