Ipod connections.. again....

Hi all,

Sorry, this I know is a question asked to death, but I want to make sure I order the right things for my car! I tried a CD changer with it, but kept getting CD check, so I returned it to Mikey.

My car (well, wifes car) is a Cooper S. It is an 06 plate, with the standard CD player. Is that a Boost then?

I am looking to plug into the back of the standard stereo and run an Ipod lead to the glovebox. The Ipod I want to conenct is a Nano, purchased in black in September 06. Ideally, I'd like as much functionallity through the stereo as possible, but don't want to pay too much. I would also like to know the parts required for a simple AUX connection so the Ipod controls all the info, then will make a decsion which kit to go for.

I do not want the ipod on display, or any seperate display/control screens.

The best info I have so far is £125 from BMW for an aux only... I don't think so!

Thank you all!

I used a Dension IceLink plus from Mikey with my '06 boost CD no problem at all, had the iPod in the glovebox.

If you want as much functionality through the headunit (as you say in your first post), you should really talk to Mikey about the Ice-Link Plus.

Hope you get it sorted.

I have now tried a connects2 set up, using an ipod adaptor rather than 3.5mm jack. It should utilise the CDC adaptor, but the head unit can't find it. It's probably a set up issue, but I've searched and searched and can't find it. I know BMW have changed the specs of the stereos, but has anyone resolved this?

OK, Connects2 stuff has all gone back. When disconnecting the telemute connections (forgot to say it had those..), there sound came through, but functionality and display on the unit was lame.

Mike took a call today and we're going to try the IceLink Plus. Fingers crossed - 3rd time lucky!

Icelink is the best solution and Mikey won't steer you wrong.
