Stereos

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sat in a friends MINI soft top the ther day that had HK and it sounded great up loud, nice deep base etc. I have the standard radio boost with the cd changer in boot and cassette up front. Its OK but not when up loud really, well not as good as hers. I asked BMW if i could have HK retrofitted but they came up with a quote of about 1k! which is a bit much really imo.

I have no idea when it comes to sterios etc, i dont want to change the sterio up front i.e the cassette etc as thats where my ipod connects and i dont want the aux lead as i then loose my Cd changer. But is there anything i can install that wont take up the whole boot to increase the wats and sound on my stereo? not to loud that i can provide music for the whole of Brighton but just enaugh to compete with HK.

Sorry compleate novice when it comes to this stuff, hope i have made sense!

Vikki - when you say you have the tape stereo - is it WAVE or BOOST?
If not sure look at the FAQ at NewMINIStuff.com
Cheers to the rest of you guys

For the very best results you should change the stereo
But if you wish to keep it no problem, we have had great results amplifying the boost units
Can blow the socks of a HK system

The HK amp kit is for Boost
You can add aftermarket amps to wave or boost
