JCW Handbrake grip

Hi folks my MCS did alright this Xmas getting a few pressies which have now all been fitted bar the JCW handbrake grip.

I've managed to get the existing grip off no problem but when I put the new JCW one on I can't get it to click into place. There are only two spring like clips at the rear of the grip but they don't seem to click into anything.

Does anybody know how to secure this item? I'm sure someone on here must have fitted one in the past. Many thanks and a Happy New Year to all.

According to the official instructions your smear some sticky gluey stuff on your shaft & slide it on.
Some of my customers have wrapped their shaft in tape then slide it on

I used black duct tape, it holds it in place great. Don't put too much on though or you will not be able to get the cover all the way down.

The nightmare rides are back...........

I used black electricians tape. If you wrap just enough round, and then lightly score the tape with a knife, it will expose the stickiness of the tape underneath and allow for a snug and secure fit.

You're right it does sound very rude

Thanks for the help, it's a crude fix for a rather expensive bit of kit but I'll give it a go.
