what do you all think of colour coding my dash to match the roof and wheels on my mini cooper. I have photoshopped on the bonnet stripes on the photo as i dont have a current photo with the OEM stripes fitted. What you think to this idea?? honest opinions please

well i got a 2nd hand one from ebay and had it & downtubes painted pro check in gallery to see the finnished car which is going for a new r56 s

My gut reaction is that it looks good.

Make sure it's not brilliant white though, it needs to be more old fashioned dead white. Go into a DIY shop and check a gloss colour chart of "brilliant white" against "white" and see what I mean.

That's fair enough, but if it's too bright it might look a bit too "white goods", if that makes sense.

I'm with Tigger on this one, it could look great, or you could totally regret it.

If the wallet will stretch far enough why don't you buy a second-hand interior trim first and get it painted the same white as the roof and mirrors (any BMW Bodyshop will give you the paint code) before pulling your car to bits and possibly wishing you hadn't?

I agree - needs to be more Pepper White than Hotpoint White

Only thing is that the roof and stripes are whiter than Pepper White. We also have a Black Cooper with White Roof and Stripes and really I think it might look a little bit odd with a different shade of white on the interior, but I do think the interior needs to be more pepper...

Have to say I do like the MINIs with the colour coded dashes though - be sure to post pics if you do get it done

NO!

Pepper White would look totally out of place against the pure white of the roof, mirrors, alloys and stripes
