buzzing from speakers when headlights on main beam

hi there, jus wondered wether anyone had any ideas, i have aftermarket clarion 6x9's powered by a kenwood amp, i have noticed for a while that the speakers buzz when the headlights are on wether dipped or full beam, it almost sounds like the speaker cable might be running next to a power cable therefore causing a buzz, im not really sure though! any help would be appreciated!!

Drive it like ya stole it!!

Sounds like a ground loop.... I'd call MikeytheMini for some advice, either a little signal blocker or better grounding would probably fix it.

Hi! I have the exact same problem, I was thinking it was a problem with my light control modual or something... However I too have had a aftermarket soundsystem fitted!

Did you speak to Mikey and did he suggest what it could possibly be?

Cheers matey, Lewis!

Where did you get the amp power and ground from?

And are you using a grounded RCA cable?

if you have an aftermarket head unit, try attaching the earth wire to a ground point like a metal bolt attached to the chassis somewhere

not managed to speak to mikey yet, have rang the shop but had no awnswer, they maybe closed today im not sure. to be honest im not sure where the amps are grounded to, ive got an idea that the're grounded to one of the rear light mounting bolts but cant be sure really, ill try emailing mikey now and see if he gets back.

Hmmm defo sounds like a poor ground then.

Either run an individual cable from your ground on the amp to the neg post on the battery or scrape off some paint on an internal hidden bit of body work and ground there.

I think your ground is interfering with the ground on your lights circuit.... couldn't be sure wihtout seeing though.
