BEWARE Autolumination or superlumination

Hi all

I've been a member for a while getting lots of good mini info..AND this is my first post.

I want people to be aware of the company autolumination, spectrumled, or superlumination all run by chris bacon.

Quick Story:

I basically ordered four "Matrix II 32 Led" listed on there website as completely clear/no color.- But they sent me colored ones (NOT WHAT I ORDERED). Well, I can't use these since I'm putting them in a white tail light and don't want to "see" the red or amber color.

So I emailed them to return them and get new ones...but they wrote me...

"You never at any time until today said they must be in a clear base . Had you done so, we would have checked stock to see what is here and communicated that to you"

That's like ordering a blue mini and getting a pink one...'hey, you never said to us you didn't want pink'.

Anyway, I emailed them I would send the LEDs back, since they are not what I ordered. So they wrote me:

"If you wish to exchange, we can do that dollar for dollar. If you prefer a refund, we retain a 20% testing/restocking fee on the returns." FYI: The dollar for dollar is a credit at their store.

Well, I don't want a credit to buy something else and I don't want to be hit with 20% restocking fee.

I just want to send the WRONG items back (on my dime i might add) and get a full refund.

well, after many other emails - they refused to do this.

Anyway, I contacted my bank and filed a claim to get a full credit. I also returned the products to them at my cost i might add. What a pain and waste of time.

I understand this is my first post, but I want people to be aware of this very shady website.

regards,
jeff

PS. MINI 2 is a great resource...

Why not do a charge back on your credit card? If they sent the wrong item, they are not allowed to charge a restocking fee for their mistake.

I had to do that with a shady "trading partner" on Amazon.com.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what's a chargeback?

I did do a chargeback. A chargeback is basically getting a refund from your bank. The bank will then get the money back from the merchant.

But it involves a hassle of calling the bank, getting papers sent to you, sending in your signature, sending in suporting documents. At least thats what my bank wants me to do.

Just did a search and found the company also operating on ebay The ebay id is "baconcc"

And I noticed they got some negative feedback on March 27, 2007
"Negative feedback rating - I received the wrong bulb & they expect me to return the item on my expense "

Guess I'm not the only one.
