Offline | Removing Alloy Patina elipses and door pockets from door cards I would like to remove the door elipse surrounds and the door pockets from my door cards so that I can get them sprayed to match the car. I have found out how to remove the door cards in the FAQ's section and I'm happy with that. But, before I do, can anyone tell me if it's then possible to separate these parts from the door card itself, ready for them to be sprayed? Thanks in advance. Tigger. ![]() May 08: Thanks to all of my friends on Mini2 for a lot of great times over the last 4 years. In future I can always be contacted here! Offline | The Alloy Patina Pocket and Bezel are ultrasonically welded onto the Door moulding. They can be drilled off from the back surface but then they will need to be stuck back on using adhesive as drilling them off destroys the pegs that hold them on. As the Door moulding is covered in TPO you will need to use very good adhesive to stick to it, suggest ITW Plexus 2 pack structural methyle acrelate. Not any easy job but can be done. |

Offline | We had the door cards on our PW done recently, and they look awesome. A lot cheaper than buying them from the dealer too! It is a pain in the backside to dismantle the cards, but ChrisLamb has already explained that. Go for it though, you won't regret it ![]() ![]() .......:::::* www.EastCoastMiniClub.co.uk *:::::....... Offline | Thanks for the encouragement there I would love the colour keyed door cards, but I think there is too good a chance of me messing up the reassembly and it bugging me for ever more Think I'll start with the dash and possibly the downtubes as well and see where we go from there. Please let me know if anyone has seen any photos of coloured dash and downtubes I'd love to see what it looks like....Thanks in advance, Tigger. ![]() May 08: Thanks to all of my friends on Mini2 for a lot of great times over the last 4 years.
