Offline | Interesting to see the new TomToms. I've used a 910 for the last year or so and swear by it, it's a fantastic piece of equipment. All they need to do is sort out that stupid screen mount and it would be perfect There is no getting away from the fact that the screen mount spoils an otherwise brilliant unit, although it is livable with.My system has very rarely frozen and is much more reliable than my previous TomTom 700. If it does freeze you just need to press a reset switch. I'm sure that the new unit will be good, but I'd be interested to see what offers there will be on the old unit. TomToms normally prove to be very expensive when first launched and then get cheaper and cheaper until the new unit comes out, then they go right up to RRP again for a while, before their slow decline to about RRP - 40%! Tigger. |

Offline | u have had one in my car for about 4 months only had one reset done on it and if you have a paper clip or mechanical pencil it isnt that bad a problem. P.S. you can get maps in the color of your mini's display from thier home page just to make it blend in... My Job forces me to drive... My Mini forces me to take the long way... |

| MINI2 Regular | Definatly go with the TomTom, the trafice reporting is miles better thn on my £1200 clarion unit with TMS. If you look around they are available for way under £300 now. I recentlygot a new dock for it and it seems to be a little better |

| Cooper Reborn | Thanks all for you input. Very interested in the 910 as the price at the mo is well good. Saw a 910 music bundle for £245.00. Seems prices are dropping on the 910 becauce of the new ones arriving. Both new ones have the same features as the 910 but they are slimmer. It only the question regarding the mount and the freezing that is a little off putting. ![]() Life is not about the amount of breath's you take.............. Offline | The freezing is a very minor issue, the mount is not good (but it's not a major problem) and there is no guarantee that the new mount will be any better (the mount for the "original" TomTom 700 was much better than any of the current generation ). However, buy the 910 at £245 because it comes with a 20Gb hard drive and neither of the new ones have anything remotely like that; as with so many bits of technology, memory is everything! (I ran out of memory on my old TomTom 700, 2Gb, very quickly )Tigger. PS: I paid top whack for the 910 just after lauch (£499.99) and it's still been worth every penny. Expect the genuine replacement for the 910 (920?) when it comes out to be £499.99 again and expect many of the new accessories to be unobtainable for months! (After the launch of the 910 I had to wait around 4 months for a spare car mounting kit ) |

Offline | Turn the unit upside down and look at the mounting point. You will see that there is a row of gold pins and a round socket. It's not that! Next to the row of pins there is a small exposed area of circuit board. Next to the circuit is a very insignificant looking circular hole on the black plastic, offset to one side. That's it! You will need to unfold a small paper clip and prod the hole with the end of the unfolded wire. The unit will take around 30 seconds to re-boot. Try it now, it won't do any harm.... Tigger. |

Offline | I chose the 910 versus an iPod with a rival GPS because I wanted to hear my music over my speakers as well as the directions. I've not had any problems with the window mount and highly recommend the 910. As for later models, I would expect the typical excellence to follow. Hope this helps and enjoy!! Cheers!! |

| Cooper Reborn | Well thanks for all your comments and I have gone for the Tomtom910 Music. Really great bit of kit (except for the droopy mount). Blue-tooth was a breeze, and phone book copied over in one operation. Mp3 Player, plus Photos etc. Mount has FM transmiter, tune in radio and playback is through the car system. Just need to learn now how to put a 'Run' into it ready for the Get togethers over the next few months leading up to Cotswolds 07. Well pleased, Thanks all. ![]() Life is not about the amount of breath's you take.............. It’s about the moments that take your breath away……… |
