Hi guys,

as above really, I want to replace my stockhead unit with a good replacement before I get my components and amp put in, but really want one that will reproduce a very similar to stock colour on it?? I do a lot of night time driving and last time had a different head unit, it lit up blue compared with the orange dash and annoyed me somewhat.

any particular types or manufacturers I need to look at?

on my kenwood head unit you can change the colour of the lights and the orange setting matches the stock colour exactly

which model/style kenwood do you have?? I had a kenwood before that was blue and couldn't change??

its a kenwood kvt627 but its a motorised screen one which I don't know if you want, but when it is closed it has the orange lights. I think you can switch the colour between blue orange and green, I assume they do non-dvd models with the colour change feature

I believe the becker units have orange lighting very very close to the MINIs

heard about Becker's last time, but found them a tad pricey for what they are when i last looked, but that was a while ago.

Would also like to be bluetooth, to enable me to use my phone through it. don't want 3 more points...tut.

I have a Sony one - switches between Red and Green - the red doesn't match, but doesn't clash enough to offend the eye.

I previously had a Sony S2000 - that had Amber lights which matched perfectly.

Alternatively .. change the colours of your interior dash lighting to match your head unit .. I'm desperate to get rid of my stock colour head unit to match my blue dials and climate control!!
