Offline | Stabilise aftermarket door tweeter Hi everyone! does anyone know how i can stabilise the aftermarket tweeters in the original spot? I am interested in buying focal polyglass to replace the original front speakers. I know that there are adaptors for the speakers but i can't find something similar for the tweeters too. Also if anyone know which brand of speakers and tweeters are suitable for the original spots is welcome to suggest! Thanks |

Offline | I have Focal Polyglass 165V2 speakers. I built my own adaptors for the mid-range speakers as I prefer them to be made out of wood. You should be able to buy plastic adaptors, site sponsors newministuff have them, if you don't want to make them yourself. There is only a few millimetres of spare depth. If the adaptors are too thin the magnets fowl the door and if the adaptors are too fat the speaker stops the door trim going back on correctly. In contrast the tweeters were very simple. I used bathroom sealant in the original housing as the Focal tweeter is smaller. Held together by tape until set, this also allows you to add a small angle to the installation .![]() Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs |
