Hi all, I wanted some advice from some of you more experienced MINI owners. I have a 53 reg Cooper S, and I think my car has fake leather gaiters (its unmodified - maybe someone can clarify this?).

Anyway, I wanted to know what the options are in the way of upgrading this. I remember seeing on the MINI website, under accessories, a Panther leather 6 speed gear knob for the Cooper S complete with gaiter. Has anyone bought this, how different is this to my current gearknob (mine already appears to be made of leather)? I also saw a Panther Black leather hanbrake handle. I'm not sure if this has a matching gaiter or not, and whether its any different to the standard handbrake handle which is already fitted to my MINI. Does anyone know if MINI do real leather gaiters seperately at all?

Next up is the John Cooper Works stuff. I know they do the alacantera gaiters seperately. Has anyone fitted these with the standard gear knob and handbrake handle? I'm not sure whether they would go well together or not. Any pictures? Otherwise I could go the whole hog and get matching gear knob and handbrake handle, but without the alacantera steering wheel would this not go? I did want ot get the JCW leather dash and downtubes and fit out the whole lot, but unfortunately my car is an early model with 5 piece dash so I can't.

Just want some feedbacl really, and some pictures of what all you guys and girls have in your cars. I know its a bit of a boring subject but I don't wanna go splashing out on these items if their not gonna look good at the end.

Have a butchers in my gallery i've got the JCW leather steering wheel, alacantra gear knob and gaiter just need to get around to getting the handbrake and gaiter.

I have the panther gear gaitor and gear knob from mini. Got a panther black gear knob i need to sell as well for £10.

Blackadder, I'm loving the steering wheel. Is it a leather one, or alacantera one? Is it a lot different to the original 3 spoke steering wheel - I have one of those, in grey in my MINI.

I absolutely love those seats, I take it they are JCW seats. What sort of money would I be looking at for a set of those? Can you fit them yourself?

I think my current gear knob is similar to a Panther black one, as its black and the underside appears to be leather. You don't have a matching gear gaiter to sell as well do you?

It's leather was going to get the alacantra one but thought it might go shiney

and they ain't that cheap where it might need changing in a year or 2's time, they do look like the normal 3 spoke but i had the horrible old 2 spoke so its a mass improvement

Non heated seats are £1400 fitted from BMW iirc

Good grief thats a bit pricey. How much would they be just to buy them? I have non heated seats so it can't be that hard to fit them surely? Is that for just black ones, what about black and blue ones?
