hi there

ive got a mini cooper with the 6cd in the boot, my friend has just had his vw golf head unit tinckerd with and it now produces better sound quality.

therefore i am now wondering if it is possible to tinker with the mini's standard head unit 2 do the same thing.

another point is that another one of my m8s has put a new head unit in his mini one and he says he is gettin better sound?????????????????????????

any suggestions?

If you've got the Wave radio (i.e. your head unit has a cassette player) then you have a dire stereo and you should try and obtain a Mini Boost CD radio (you may need an adapter to go from round to square pins - NewMINIStuff.com).

Two suggestions...

1. Don't use text speak is it violates the site rules.

2. As posted above, a Boost unit produces better sound quality but this leads me to ask a few questions.

a. What are you trying to achieve?
b. What tinkering did your friend do to his HU?
c. Define your idea of "better sound" as many people hear different things and want different system.
